| "With the American portraits I wanted to capture what I as a foreigner think of and see as a little bit strange, comic and sometimes even sad. Just small things that draw my attention, things that might be hard to notice in the world you always have lived in and always been used to. I chose to work with the Holga camera because it gives you a sort of a dreamy, unreal looking quality which I think adds to what I want to express with my pictures, it gives a feeling of looking through a stranger's eyes.
