EARLY EARTH MAGICIAN

The static, Ghost breathing of the night is like a
Middle-Earth-Projected-Psychic Grid.
The low vibration of a distant train tides in
with the cool night air. The 'greenness' of the
spring air and its starry edge form a clear
electric membrane, spilling into my eyes as I
lean back against my bedroom wall. Some
god is thinking of compressing Roman marble
and it's becoming ionic, here tonight.
A majestic, golden Chinese morning and
there is this beautiful metallic disc spitting
laser light into the waking city streets.
The Emperor will not be 'in' this morning. He has
some risky business with an enemy. Go back to Eighties'
plastic, China! I am thinking mostly of alarm
clock casings. Get a good breakfast, baby...
A BIRD'S SOUND PUT ME OVER A LAKE
AS A CHILD I BELIEVED IN PAN
LARGE PARTIES OF SKIN
As a child I believed Pan
visited the wooded area behind my house. I imagined
him eating clusters of rich, dark berries and moving
silently, gracefully on goat legs. His presence was
the sex of the moist earth making us grow in the summer.

Old hipsters said, "Drink at our well"
Far into the forest I see a dancer in a train light beam
Frozen pose for Mommy
Here comes the large canvas and metal bat
Helicopter spotlight
"Hiss" is fish skin
Fish Sky tracer the speed of sound is Twilight
A small lime green alligator
swimming slowly in green ink
Blossoming flowers show
Monks inhaling sound
Flame on black pyramid
A mile over the Ocean:
Whales and large rusty torpedos surface
Aztec fish-butterfly-dashiki
A thin Chinese tower
growing quickly into the clouds
Black onyx sphere
floating in three beaded cane rings

Rain mist and the smell of new tires
"Raindrops keep falling on my head"
This song's tonal sigh ending
is a slowed shaking beach towel
dry off the line in early evening
Hot pavement and fresh paint
Out of the bright gray-orange warmth
and into the cold Big Bear grocery
with my Mom
I want a brown rubber-headed toy Indian drum!
Icecream snowmen on a stick or Orange Push-Ups
Exit towards the beach heat past a turnable rack
of large thick plastic framed sunglasses of many colors
Smoking grills and recently mowed lawns
Pooh birthday parties in the back yard
Water fights and Slicky Slides
Water hose down the back of a neighboor's swim suit
Laugh
Splash
Run on the road
Waxy Kiss cards' gum and footlong hot dogs after ballgames
Bicentennial parades boil by the cemetery
Pacifier candy and soft salty pretzels by the public pool
Let's go build a fort!
